Course News
Our greens are responding nicely from the programs that have been put into place, they have recovered well from Spring renovations and all greens apart from 3G and 7G are back to 100%.
This week we have introduced 'grooming' which is dethatching the putting surface with fine dethatching reels, this aids in the combat against thatch build-up, helps to desensitise the infested areas of common couch and gives a truer, smoother putt whilst it may also add some speed to the putting surface. Grooming of the greens will continue to happen on Monday and Tuesday on a weekly basis.
Once a month we will then introduce a more noticeable and aggressive dethatching (light top-dressing of sand) program to the greens to combat against thatch build-up once again, desensitise the common couch and improve the roll of the ball. There are some small breakouts of carpet grass in some green surfaces and this will be addressed following the Bartons/BMD ProAm.
Over the past couple of months, golfers have shown great consideration toward our course staff while they carry out their work. It’s greatly appreciated—please continue this support!
Happy Golfing!!
